"Homelessness among young people is a serious issue. Homeless youth, sometimes referred to as unaccompanied youth, are individuals who lack parental, foster or institutional care.* The National Runaway Switchboard estimates that on any given night there are approximately 1.3 million homeless youth living unsupervised on the streets, in abandoned buildings, with friends or with strangers. Homeless youth are at a higher risk for physical abuse, sexual exploitation, mental health disabilities, substance abuse, and death. It is estimated that 5,000 unaccompanied youth die each year as a result of assault, illness, or suicide.**"
We need your help immediately to support the homeless with water, Gatorade, drink packets, baby wipes and bug spray. The temperatures this summer are beginning to get HOT and we need you.
Since 2016, Aris volunteers have devoted energy to passionately advocating for the hungry, needy and politically under-represented homeless adults within Arizona. Find out how you can contribute to the future of homeless adults in desperate need, through donations of resources and time.
Homelessness isn't seasonal, which is why we need your support year-round. In the summer months, we supply water and light clothing to combat the heat. In the winter, blankets and warm clothing are distributed to those in need. This can't be done without you!
Aris Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was originally established to care for homeless young adults within the East Valley. While that remains our focus, we have expanded our mission to include all individuals, homeless or housed, who need care. We provide food, clothing and hygiene items. Mostly, we provide resources and a connection to loving volunteers who care.
